FELEMENTAR Analysensysteme is the major German manufacturer of analytical instruments
for non-metallic
elements such as carbon, nitrogen, sulfur, hydrogen and oxygen. For a century now, elemental analysers have been developed in Hanau for all kinds of organic and most inorganic substances and compounds. Please review the instrument range below |
 |
In
a significant step forward, Elementar developed a complete
family of instruments for N/CN, CNS and CHN analysis
for sample sizes of up to several grams. For special
applications in agricultural research, protein determination
in food and feed, CN analysis in soil or environmental
samples to only name a few. With
this instrument, the very fast and environmentally friendly
Dumas method applied for macro samples becomes a new
dimension in instrumentation and preferred alternative
to the Kjeldahl method. The Vario MAX provides the maximum
performance in a minimum space requirement. |
MAX
stands for maximum user advantage:
- Samples
up to max. 5 g or 5 ml volume can be analyzed, and
a few mg for micro samples
- Fully
applicable for liquid and solid samples
- Complete
combustion gas analysis
- Three
stage gas drying process
- Highly
stable factory calibration means that more time is
spent analyzing samples
- Almost
unlimited reuse of stainless steel crucibles
- Low
maintenance and superior reliability means that the
VarioMAX can be left for overnight operation
- PC
operation under Windows®

| Rapid
N III Nitrogen/Protein analyser |
|
 |
Applying
the Dumas combustion method to the automatic N/protein
determination in macro samples of agricultural products
had its origin at Heraeus in Hanau. Today, this technique
is replacing the classical Kjeldahl method with worldwide
cooperative test trials clearly proving the correlation
of Dumas and Kjeldahl analytical results. This is the
basis for a growing number of national and international
standards for N/Protein analysis according to the combustion
method.
The
N/Protein analyser rapid N is setting the instrument
standard for a fully automatic and fast instrument in
routine analysis of samples such as food or feed with
a sample weight of up to 1 g and an analysis time of
approx. 5 minutes. |
Features
of the rapid N:
- Automatic
control and measurement of all combustion gases
- Integrated
39 position autosampler capable of accommodating large
samples such as pellets (solids) or capsules (liquids).
Optional 80 position sampler can be specified.
- Optimal
combustion guaranteed with the integrated oxygen flow
sensor.
- Robust
steel combustion tubes, economy-priced and regenerable
tube fillings as well as use of CO2 carrier gas ensures
a lower costs per analysis.
- The
new rapid N III generation operates under Windows
software and employs Tungsten as a reduction method,
allowing for up to 4 times longer lifetime of the
reduction tube.

| Vario
EL Micro- and macro CHNOS elemental analyser |
|
Concept
and performance of the universal analyser vario EL are
setting the new standards in CHNOS elemental analysis.
The highest analytical precision is being performed, regardless
whether less than 1 mg of pharmaceutical products or 800
mg of soil have to be analyzed. Volatile gasoline or temperature-resistant
silicium carbide can be analyzed just as well as coal,
food or sludge - without limitations for the elements,
for CHNS simultaneously or optimized for combinations
as CNS, CHN, CN, N, S and O.
The
patented gas component separation, based on the purge-and-trap
principle, results in an extremely high dynamic range
for element contents and concentration ratios, as well
as lower detection sensitivity and the automatic optimization
of analysis time.
All
requirements for the micro and macro samples are met
by means of one basic instrument. New tasks do not require
an additional instrument - vario EL is variable and
adjustable to new requirements.

Vario Trace
|

IRMS
|
In
addition to the variable universal analyser vario
EL, there are special versions available, e.g.,
vario TRACE N and S with Liquid Injection.
Isotopic
Ratio Mass Spectroscopy (IRMS)is now a matter of
simple routine analysis for a multitude of applications. |

Elementar
has long been known for their innovation in combustion technologies,
solving problems that others have tolerated in the past. This
was always evident in the HighTOC a premium high temperature
combustion TOC product with matrix separation and complete gas
flow control. The LiquiTOC is the latest in the TOC range, offering
a more cost effective solution without the compromise.
The
unique combustion system (patent applied for) actually
removes
the analyte from the potentially troublesome sample matrix
prior to any exposure to the combustion catalyst. In addition
to the reduced maintenance times/costs, this also allows
the LiquiTOC to perform the measurement of POC(Purgeable
Organic
Carbon), TIC (Total Inorganic Carbon) and NPOC (Non-purgeable
Organic Carbon) in one singular sample injection. This
is
combined with many other features of its predecessor make
it one of the most advanced but user friendly TOC systems
available on
the market today. Such a versatile instrument would not be
complete without an impressive analytical range, from
less
than 10ppb up to 10,000ppm Carbon.
PC control
is standard, allowing the user to run in the mode of their choice
with either a manual sampling system or a choice of 36 or 53
position samplers (with stirrer option). Analysis of solid samples
is extremely simple to perform with the optional solids sampling
system.

The
TOC analyser that can handle practically anything, the
HighTOC has long been setting the standards in high
temperature combustion TOC analysis. The specifications
speak for themselves in making the HighTOC a cut above
the rest.
- Wide
bore tubing allowing for large particles to enter
the analyser.
- Unique
dynamic furnace for primary combustion of the sample.
- Two
stage combustion system that separates sample matrix
from the analyte avoiding the poisoning of the catalyst.
- Three
stage drying process that allows up to 4ml of sample
to be injected into the furnace.
- Multi-range
NDIR detectors allow a range from 0.5ppm to 10,000ppm
with minimal calibration.
- Electronic
mass flow controller post combustion creates a stable
gas flow through the detector, resulting a far more
stable system over extremely long periods of time.
